  • The results of the poll don't surprise me at all (except that it's reprtedly as close as it states), but what amazes me is that the media is actually reprting this!!! I can imagine the spin they will try to put on it . . .

  • That's a fine example of Christianity. The split was essentially political, hence the doctrine of each are very similar. The main difference is that the Orthodox Church have left the Magisterium - the teaching authority - of the Church.

  • I suppose if Obama was against drinking alcohol, he would lower the drinking age to ten, cut the taxes on it to make it more affordable and require alchol to be served in schools.

  • Why would this surprise anyone? It's been obvious what Murtha is for a long time, yet the ignorant voters in his district (you know, the ones that cling to their guns and religion) just keep voting him back in, even when he insults them publicly.

  • Obama said that he would be the president of ALL the people, yet so far he has continuously spit in the face of moral conservatives, especially pro-lifers. This nomination would be an excellent opportunity for him to reach out to that large group of Americans by choosing a conservative justice.

  • God gave us free will, but He also provides moral direction through the Bible and the Church. Any person has free will to do whatever they choose to do - murder, rape, robbery, etc. The Church has an obligation to teach its followers which choices are good and which are not.
